Documentary Overview

Men avoiding HIV

PROTECTION is about condom use as a crucial strategy to help men and boys avoid HIV infection. The film shows men and youth in South Africa, Kenya and Sierra Leone addressing the condom challenge in different ways.

The DVD is a resource for your HIV awareness work, to get men thinking about and discussing HIV and its consequences, about avoiding or coping better with the presence of the virus in their lives.

Sexually transmitted HIV affects increasingly more lives in sub-Saharan Africa. Yet so many boys and men still don’t – or can’t – make condom use part of their sexual reality. Wider discussion can help condoms become a more familiar, viable part of men’s lives.

The PROTECTION DVD provides a context for argument, questions and information about condoms to surface more vividly in your trainings or workshops, your community or your congregation.
